![]() ![]() Even the lesser represented franchises hold value to Nintendo as a company as ultimately they provide the biggest selling points in wanting to buy a Nintendo console. Nintendo can, and do, compete based on its catalogue of franchises. A lot of people buy Nintendo solely on the exclusive titles you can’t experience elsewhere. They are fully aware that their brand name and their IP generate enough goodwill to compete with Sony and Microsoft for the main part. Nintendo haven’t got to where they are today because they’re producing powerhouse consoles. Like them or not, franchises like Animal Crossing, Kirby, Fire Emblem and Pokemon are huge, and the lesser loved franchises (Donkey Kong, legacy IPs etc) are what has made Nintendo as successful as it is today.
